Car Wash and Spare Parts: One System for Services and Inventory

A business that sells services and parts needs two ways of billing in one system. Here is what to look for.

Some businesses sell two very different things under one roof. A car wash sells services. A spare parts counter sells physical items with stock. When both run in the same business, the software has to handle both without forcing either into the wrong mould.

Services and parts are different

A service such as a wash has no stock. You sell it, record the payment and move to the next car. A spare part has a quantity, a cost price, a supplier and a shelf. Selling it must reduce stock, and buying it must increase stock. One billing screen for both usually means one of them suffers.

Why one system beats two

If services and parts live in separate tools, you end up adding numbers by hand at the end of the month. One system gives you a single picture: how much came from washing, how much from parts, what you spent and what you earned.

From our experience

For a car wash and spare parts business in Faisalabad, we developed a point of sale for car wash services and a separate invoicing system with inventory for spare parts. Purchases, expenses, HRM and reports were added alongside, so the owner sees the whole business in one place.
